Your Consultation

During your initial consultation, Dr. Saeed Marefat will discuss with you in detail your concerns about your appearance, your alternatives in correcting these problem areas, and the risks involved. You may also meet one of our cosmetic surgery consultants, who can discuss issues relevant to your surgery in detail and answer other questions you may have. Our cosmetic consultants are thoroughly trained experts who can provide you with in-depth information on the desired cosmetic procedure.

During this initial visit, with your consultant as your guide, you can view before and after color photographs of your surgeon’s actual patients.

You will also have the opportunity to review informative material related to your surgery and view educational videotapes on the particular procedure you wish to have.

After you have become thoroughly familiar with the procedure, you may have additional questions, which you may discuss with Dr. Saeed Marefat or your cosmetic surgery consultant, so that you are completely satisfied. On occasion, you may think of a question after you have left our office. Don’t hesitate to call us. We will be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Members of our staff will help you through each step of the way with understanding and reassurance.

After you have met with Dr. Saeed Marefat and have had all your questions answered to your satisfaction, your cosmetic consultant will help you schedule your surgery date, arrange for any laboratory tests, handle your paper work, and set up any other necessary appointments.

Your Day of Surgery

On your day of plastic surgery you will be greeted by your admitting nurse, who will escort you to the pre-operative area. Dr. Marefat will then meet with you, review the details of the procedure, and answer any additional questions you may have.

Your surgery will be performed in a modern, hospital type operating room. The operating rooms have been designed and equipped with your safety and comfort in mind. State-of-the-art instruments, cardiac monitoring systems, oxygen saturation monitors, and blood pressure monitors are continuously tested for proper function and periodically upgraded.

After surgery you will be moved to a special recovery area where you will be supervised by your surgeon and have a complete understanding of the special needs you may have after surgery. During this immediate postoperative period, you will receive the most special and individual attention possible.

When you have completely recovered and are ready to leave, Dr. Marefat will meet with you again to discuss the surgical results, and give you postoperative instructions. While you are in surgery, your family or friends may wait in the comfortable waiting area in one of the facilities. They may rejoin you after the procedure are completed and you have fully recovered. In certain cases, Dr. Marefat may recommend and arrange for you to spend your first evening at an after-care facility or hospital. Usually this is arranged in advance. Dr. Marefat performs his operations with a meticulous touch, thereby reducing the postoperative discomfort you may experience. We will make every effort to make your postoperative recovery pain-free and provide you with medication to eliminate any minor discomfort you may have. When you go home, Dr. Marefat or one of his staff will call you that night to make sure you are doing well and to answer any questions that you may have. Dr. Marefat sees almost all his patients within two or three days of the operation.

Financing Your Procedure

A high degree of specialized knowledge and skill goes into achieving superior results. It is only with completely thorough attention to detail that such results can be achieved. By necessity, this kind of time-consuming surgery cannot be cheap.

Insurance

There are a number of procedures in plastic surgery that may be partially or completely covered by your insurance provider. These are procedures that are necessary to improve function, but at the same time may enhance the appearance or cosmetic shape of that structure. Such cosmetic/functional procedures may occasionally be covered by your health insurance, depending on the kind of policy you have and the severity of the problem.

Specially trained members of our staff will assist you with verification of coverage and the completion of the insurance forms. We will help you obtain the maximum benefit from your insurance when your claim is submitted.

Financing/Credit

There are a number of financial-assistance programs and payment plans that are available to you in order to cover the cost of surgery. Please make sure you discuss these options with our administrative staff. We will make every attempt to help you with a plan that is appropriate for your case.
