Hand surgery is a surgical discipline that deals with injuries diseases, and deformities of the hand. Several surgical specialties have made significant contribution to this discipline. In order for a surgeon to correct problems in the hand, he or she should have adequate knowledge of the complex structures of the hand.   Delicate nerves, tendons, and bones in the hand have to be precisely put back together if proper function is to be regained. Even if the surgery is successful, the function of the hand may not be restored if the hand is not properly rehabilitated.
